Health Improvement Officer – Community and Partnerships Job Position

Hull City Council is looking for a dynamic and delivery-focused Health Improvement Officer to join our Public Health Team.

The post holder will provide support and expertise in the development and delivery of programmes to support improving the health of communities across Hull. This requires an understanding of the population and how to identify, tackle and manage health inequalities across the City.

The role will specifically include:

  • supporting the establishment of a Hull Fairness Commission
  • developing projects with partners which will improve outcomes for mental health
  • taking a lead on workplace well being.

The post holder will be ‘hands on’ and a practical problem solver, supporting the Public Health Lead for Communities and Partnerships. The ideal candidate will be passionate about maximizing health outcomes for communities across the City and will work collaboratively with communities and a range of other Local Authority, health and voluntary sector providers.

Experience of working in Public Health is preferable however not essential, along with a relevant degree or equivalent demonstrable experience, an understanding of Local Authority services and the ability to work in partnership to achieve shared objectives.
